I love fabric! It's so beautiful and has so many possibilities. For me, this all started with a dear friend picking me up from the airport to catch up for lunch who then told me about EPP which led into a seemingly silly sewing obsession in a very short time... but that seemingly insignificant thing has been such a gift to me. My little sewing machine sits right where the crib was in the pink room for baby girl we were going to adopt but fell through. The crib that would have had my little ivf-babies that didn't make it. The room I could hardly look at has become my favorite place in the house.
Psalm 103:3 says that "He heals all our diseases" which translates literally "He mends our griefs as by stitching." As @little.lisa.girl put it there is a simple joy of bringing beauty to the broken places one stitch at a time. It's my prayer to share that with you in whatever your broken place is.
He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars;
He calls them all by name.
Great is our Lord, and mighty in power;
His understanding is infinite.
Stitching takes time but each stitch is bringing us closer to being Beautifully Mended.
